The top procurement professionals in Spain met in Barcelona to take part in Líderes de compras en acción event. The first of its kind in Spain, the objective of this ground-breaking event was to further the Purchasing field in Spain by taking it to world-class standards.

Who Attended?

The event brought together strategic Purchasing Leaders in Spain, giving them opportunity to benchmark with the leading companies.

The content of the event was tailored to Purchasing directors of large corporations – both national and international. Places for the event were strictly limited to 25 corporate delegates to ensure the integrity and quality of the Workshop style sessions.

What Did Participants Learn?

The event featured two workshops which went really into depth and detail on the key issues involved in the changing face of Purchasing. Sammy Rasheed, Executive partner for Corporate Research, Institute for Supply Chain Management and Global Head of Productivity Strategy and PMO, Novartis Pharma AG, Switzerland, delivered a 4hour interactive session titled: Beyond Procurement – Strategies for Evolving the Procurement Function.

After a networking lunch, this was followed by Philippe Delespesse, Managing Partner, Inteligencia Creativa, Spain with a Workshop in Creative Thinking for “Líderes de compras en acción”. Being innovative and having new ideas is required in all company functions, especially in Purchasing and this workshop provided participants with tools to use in their daily work.

In addition to the intense day’s programme, on the evening preceding the event there was an exclusive VIP Dinner in a top Barcelona Restaurant. The dinner was attended by a special guest Sammy Rasheed, Novartis, and provided an opportunity to build contacts in an informal setting and relax before the workshops.

My Contribution

Líderes de compras en acción was organized by Impact Five Group in collaboration with Purchasing Talents and EMEX magazine. I was a co-founder of Impact Five Group and was responsible for event logistics, communication with participants and speakers, finances and on-site smooth running of the event.
